A recent water emergency also revealed gaps in our emergency preparedness. We must review and improve our systems to ensure residents are safe and informed.
- Transparency in Budgeting: Every dollar should be accounted for, and residents should understand where their tax money goes.
- Emergency Preparedness: A thorough review of our policies to strengthen readiness and protect residents through planning and training.
- Public Safety: Supporting our public safety divisions to ensure we continue to feel safe in our neighborhoods.
- Responsible Governance: Planning with a forward-looking, strategic approach to keep Golden Valley strong.
Priorities for Lasting Community Partnerships
As a former firefighter for the City of Minneapolis, I know what it means to serve. Communication and transparency in actions by the city council and management, builds partnership and trust. The city of Golden Valley must be a neighbor and partner that values all who live and work here as partners. We want a vibrant community where people want to be.

Transparency and accessibility creates trust and accountability. How do we measure our success? Establishing standards and a decision framework would keep values prominent and our process focused and consistent. Golden Valley is embarking on several major capital improvement projects. These require:
- Clear planning and measurable goals
- Strong financial controls
- Consistent monitoring
- Scheduled updates on the projects with meaningful review of activities

As your next Councilwoman, I will:
- Review policies, procedures, and budgets
- Work collaboratively with the mayor, council members, staff, and neighboring cities.
- Chart a clear direction for Golden Valley’s future with measurable goals and objectives.
- Provide accountability through communication, access to information on the website, and through meetings.
